Hansuli necklaces: meaning, materials and designs
What is a hansuli?
A hansuli, also known as a hasli, is a rigid necklace shaped to follow the collar near the base of the neck. Hansuli is also the name of our Uttarakhand jewellery brand in Dehradun.
Indian Family Jewels describes the traditional hasli as a rigid collar necklace that can have simple or decorated designs. See its Hasli exhibit on Google Arts & Culture for the general jewellery background.

Are all hansuli necklaces made from the same metal?
No. The design name does not establish the metal, purity or finish of a particular piece. Check the product details. Where a design is described as gold plated, ask our team to confirm its base metal and any available purity or hallmark information before ordering.
How should I choose the fit?
Ask for the dimensions and fastening details of the specific design. Weight alone does not establish the fit. Contact Hansuli to discuss measurements or arrange a viewing.
Where can I view Hansuli jewellery?
